Snow Trip to Falls Creek!

The long awaited snow trip to Falls Creek happened over the past weekend (and the last weekend of the holidays). Well, to sum up the whole experience in 1 word... AWESOME!!!
I can't stress to people enough that snowboarding (yes, I went for snowboarding instead of the usual skiing) is extremely fun and addictive after you get the hang of it. It is amazing how your upper body moves and how your weight shift can affect the direction of the board... It's like... magic!

However, it is only until the 2nd day of snowboarding that I took the Level 1 and 2 lessons from the professional instructors. Thus, the 1st day of my snowboarding is filled with experimentation and lots of falling down on the beginner slope. Haha. Nevertheless, it made me felt more prepared for the lessons in day 2.
Throughout the trip I made quite a few friends who are all very friendly and nice, which made the trip more interesting and memorable for me. I realized that snowboarding can bring people together especially when none of us had prior experience, thus we are all in the same "board". Haha.

Anyways, I attempted 3 "beginner" runs down the hill/mountain... 1st the Drover's Dream, then Panorama, then Wombat's Hill as the final run, bringing me back to the accomodation site. I must say, the Drover's Dream slope is 3-4 times steeper than the beginner slope I played on the 1st day. Luckily the instructor taught us a method to go down slopes slowly. Even with that, I still fell down 5 times. Panorama was abit better. I only fell down 3 times. But Wombat's... Sigh... Wombat's is a less steep but more windy run. However, my snowboard's binding decided to not-work right before the run. Thus, I was falling down almost every 10m of the run. Sighs... It's the only disappointment of the whole trip.

Having said that, the snow trip was very very fun and very memorable. There I met many new people and had many great experiences. So, thanks to MUISS for organizing it and all the people who went and that I met and get to know. I highly recommend anyone to join the next snow trip and remember to take lessons 1st!

Mornington Peninsula

Last Friday, I went to Mornington Peninsula with my sister and friends. We drove there in 2 cars, which is quite comfortable actually. 2 Toyotas slightly bigger than a Yaris for 8 people. Anyway, the trip was quite fun although we didn't manage to keep to our schedule. Haha. Too much time spent on the Point Nepean National Park. Anyway, I'm quite lazy to say anything about it, so I'll just post 30,000 words below. For more pictures, go see Chu Jie's facebook.
