Back from Jordan & Syria!

Ladies and gentlemen! I am BACK from Jordan and Syria 2 days ago and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all! =D It's 2008 now and wish everyone all the best this year!

So, the trip was quite fun despite the monotony in food. Went to many ruins, castles and colonadded streets which is can say is fairly common there due to the influences from the Roman empire. The trip was almost entirely reliving form 4 history lessons with all the Turki Uthmaniyah stuff, Pax Romana, Silk Route, Islamic things and also quite a few things about Christianity.

The highlight of the trip was the world wonder in Petra with one of the relics- The Treasury, being the most famous of all sites there. We walked a total distance of more than 8km that day which includes walking through a 1.2km gorge called "the Siq". The place was quite a spectacle, covering a really big area with ruins, streets and tombs...and also camel, donkey and horse poops. Haha. And there's also a camel drinking Coca Cola! (see pic) Haha.

Well, i'm not going to overload my page with pictures. So, those 2 are the only pics of the trip i'm going to post. Hehe. Moving on, I went to the Dead Sea! Yeay! It was a very exciting experience and very interesting too! It was really fun floating on the surface and having big chunks of salt at the bottom along with "facial-ready" dead sea mud. Haha.

So, the trip continued with more ruins and more colonadded streets and some UNESCO recognised places in Syria. I won't go into the details there. I'm far too lazy. Haha. And that concludes my post on my trip to Jordan and Syria! For more information please visit my sister's blog here: http://chujiephua.blogspot.com

P.S. I found my "C" button on the day I lost it but was too lazy to publish a post. So, thanks everyone who asked and showed concern. Really appreciate it. =D
