Lazy Saturday Afternoon

Good mid-day everyone. It's a lazy, warm and sunny afternoon here in Melbourne... Ah... weather is quite nice today minus the fact that the sun is way too glaring for my eye's pleasure. =p

Anyway, life goes on as usual here in Melbourne. Not too worry everyone, I'm doing alright here after 2 months in the land of the Kangaroos (speaking of which, I haven't seen one yet since I've arrived). Lectures are hypnotizing as usual... The constant droning of the lecturer trying to drive knowledge into my mundane brain. Blah blah blah blah keeps hammering my attention and conciousness down to absolute zero. Labs are hectic and a weekly chore... Especially the lab for Sensors and Artificial Perception - pain in the butt as analogue electronics are definitely my worst subject. Add in the non-ideal conditions of the experiment and you'll get nonsense out of the sensors circuit.

Entertainment times are sparse and much looked forward to. We have hall suppers, floor outings, day trips, badminton, a game of pool, foosball, etc. A break from studying is very much needed. Really. Phew... Just like what I'm doing now, blogging while listening to music on my laptop (I love my laptop!). Well, after this, it'll be another session of contemplating programming codes and preparing lab report. Le sigh, the life of an overseas student.

Oh well, I must certainly admit that I miss home already. Though not so much home sick, but I miss my mum and dad back at home. Home cooked food, the occasional barley/ red bean soup, take-home breakfasts on Saturdays and mamak on Sunday mornings. Also all the quirky moments that happen in the house with mum and dad... Oh, and mum saying "wa ai lim teh~" (I want to drink tea in Hokkien) from downstairs when all of us are upstairs studying/ using the computer. Haha. And dad will be listening to music while working in his study room with the air conditioning on... It's nice to go in and enjoy the cold air for a few minutes but only to come out to the upstairs study room filled with hot air.

Lalala~ I just had pasta fettucini cooked with smoked tuna, egg, italian herbs and olive oil and also instant Italian minestrone soup (1 hour ago). Well, not too bad considering a 15 minutes cooking time. Drinking earl grey tea from breakfast, I can feel my bowels churning and signalling me to the toilet. Haha. That's all for now folks. I think this post is more of a mindless, wandering blubbering that somehow makes sense, vaguely. It's definitely affected by the weather - warm, lazy saturday afternoon weather.

Happy birthday to Chu Jie jie jie

Happy birthday!
See I so good, cook mee suah for you. Lalala
Ok la, back to studying. Haha. Have fun have fun tomorrow (today).

Chatting with bots

Hi people, I was so bored that I started to chat with those automated MSN bots that try to get you to funny websites and phish for your information.
So, below is the conversation history that I had with 2 of them...

I have a feeling that I scared off the 2nd one. 'Cause there's no reply after that. Hahaha.
So... morale of the story is, don't simply add people on msn...and don't simply click on links that you dont' know. Otherwise, you might catch a worm or virus and by then, it'll be a headache.

Back to basics

Hey people, you should have probably noticed that I have changed my blog layout again.
Why, you ask. Is because I got bored of the old one. And it kinda annoys me that the header picture is of such low quality, and allows very limited customization.
So, I've decided to switch back to the most basic one from blogger and shall change my header only from now onwards.
Please provide me with feedback on how my blog looks on your screen. As I've set the width of the blog to 1020px... Which hopefully everyone can view it nice and easy without having to scroll left and right.

That's all for now! Cheerios and have a nice Wednesday!

P.S. Any pros can teach me how to put a margin between the post's words and the border? Thanks

Great Ocean Road!

^ Huge tree. Not the biggest I've seen, but huge nonetheless. =p

^ A fungi community on a log. There's one loner mushroom at the bottom =(

^ How often can you find furry mushrooms??

^ This is the highlight in the Otway park. It's a tower on a raised platform. Quite an intimidating sight from the top...

^ Looking down from the top! The picture doesn't do the view justice. =p

^ Group picture! Thanks to the Indian guy. XD

^ Mini fern on the side of the tree... I like how the light shines from the top. =D

^ The partially blown off seeds adds to the effect of the photo.

^ On the way back... Random shot that turned out better than I've expected! =D

^ On the way back too. This is the kind of scenery that we see all the way there and back. Of course, the ambience isn't that dramatic. This is evening time already.

^ A finishing panoramic view of the Twelve Apostles. This is the only photoshopped one (To stich the photo together)

Note: My blog is slowly becoming a photo-blog. Anyone can give me some links for nice layouts for photo-blogs? Preferably those that shows one picture, one caption. Like how it's done now. Oh, I want a 2 column layout too. =D
