Independence Day

Happy(?) Merdeka Day, Malaysia!

I actually wanted to rant about our country's sad situation and bleak future... But these kind of articles are becoming a cliche for young, Malaysian bloggers. So, I shan't do it.

Instead, I'll post a random picture of an alphabet, and write my post based on it.And the alphabet is...

H!
The 8th alphabet in the alphabets.
Turn it 90 degrees and you'll get I!
Turn in 180 degrees and you'll get H again! ZOMG!
List of words that came across my mind that start with H: Happy, Hell, Howitt, Help, Holocaust, Happening, Hippies, Haemorrhage.

2 days ago, it stood for the 'H' in "Hap^2y Bday".
Yesterday its photo stood in my memory card, awaiting transfer to my computer.
Today it is the main topic of my post and the first alphabet in the post (pure coincidence I assure you).
Tomorrow... hm... will there be Hope for our country tomorrow?
The day after tomorrow...'s main character is Jack Hall and he's a paleoclimatologist.

. . .

Ran out of inspiration and ideas for the post. Thus ends the post. Haha.
Have a happy, enjoyable and productive day my readers.

Peekture Post

Some pictures taken few days ago and today...

^Berry-ish thingy?

^Looking out my window to a puff of cloud

^And the puff of cloud came into my room! XD

^Howitt Hall from the front. Note the wind struck trees

^Lisa's reflection through her new baby

^This is my favourite shot of Mei Xian's LX1 with closed lens (The effect in done using the Colour Accent scene mode in my camera)

^Not super fantastic, but it's a change of style... didn't want to take so many pictures of the whole camera

^Taking picture of the lens. Love the clean, clear shot. I think it's Deakin Hall in the background.

^My favourite shot of the day! Awesome Nostalgic effect from my camera. And it's in 16:9 too! Almost wallapaper worthy.

^Lisa with her new Nintendo DS lite. Happy early birthday, Lisa. Hope you liketh your present, and you should thank Pei Chern for it.

That's all for now folks! Hope you liked the photos as much as I do. =D

Zipper lost

Argh! The zipper of the Timberland jacket I've been wearing is spoiled! Nooooo~ It still can zip, but the metal holding the puller thing came off and is no where to be found...
What bad luck ('cause i put it to wash and dry, and now it's spoiled... T_T

City Outing with MUFY friends

Haven't been updating my blog lately due to...um...uninspired-ness and laziness.
Anyway, went out to city with some friends from MUFY. It was quite fun, made reservation for the restaurant like... 20 minutes before we arrive. Haha. Took quite a number of pictures but don't feel like uploading all of them.

We ate at Izakaya Hachibeh, a Japanese restaurant (obviously). Ordered Una don and Teba (fried chicken wings). The portion was... pathetic. Le-sigh. I was hoping for a more fulfilling japanese meal and instead I felt ripped off by the price. Oh well, nothing beats japanese food dinner with family back in Malaysia. =p

On another note, I'm a sucker for awesome bikes (as in bicycles). Gah! Why does nice bicycles have to be so expensive?? Regardless of mountain bikes or road bikes, the price of a decent one is upwards of 300AUD. Sheesh. And they say bicycles are an environmental and CHEAP mode of transport. -_-" Kinda regretted buying the 2nd hand bicycle. It's getting less reliable. Leaky front tube, dodgy gear shifts (due to mismatched shifter), mis-aligned wheels and old brakes. How I wish I can ship my bicycle from Malaysia to Australia. =p

Anyway, enough of ranting. Picture time:

^Weird pictures due to slow shutter...Gonna experiment more next time

^Girls L-R: Evonne, Mei Xian, Sin Jiang; Guys L-R: Me (duh), Chee Yung, Wei Keat

^Not perfect, but you get the general idea of what I'm trying to do

^In the restaurant

^Floating lanterns on the road!(?)

^Again

^Night view of Flinders St Station. Any tips on how to take a better pic?

^View from inside the train

^On the way back

A random photo and more

So I took a series of photos of some playing cards and here is one of them. Along goes the photos of a dismantled Playstation 2. My dismantling skills improved! (I didn't break any ribbon cables, didn't deform any plastic parts and I don't think any metal parts are bent too! Yeay!

Peek-tures taim!^K&Q

^Sony generates emotions with this Emotion Engine! =D

^Power supply board, some board, casing with network adapter, casing with fan and controller module, shielding for PCB, motherboard, casing for expansion bay, heatsink, dvd drive, casing with button, more shielding.

^Heatsink!! The heaviest-ish component in the PS2. Solid metal! (likes) =D

^Cover cover cover

^The fan(s)! The fan in PS2 and my biggest fan on the laptop screen! =DD

^Thus ends the pictures (and life) of the PS2

Cheerios people! Have a nice Friday!

No new posts... Why? why? Why?
Nothing much to post about. No nice pictures to put up... only these...
First 2 taken during the Howitt Hall Earth Hour, in the music room.
The 3rd one is the assam salmon fish head that I cooked about a week ago! So so so nice... Yumm...

Nothing more to talk about. Oh, I applied for the Summer Research Project thing... Hopefully I'll get it. Hmm...
