Thank you!

I've been devoided interesting blog topics recently and that resulted in the lack of posts in my blog. Many apologies to those loyal visitors (if there's any) who tirelessly checked my blog for updates. The lack of interesting events recently have caused this "posts shortage" in my blog. Well, since i have abit of spare time here, i managed to squeeze a topic out of myself (clap clap clap!) and post it here.

Not too long ago, my family's new maid arrived fresh off the plane, from the agency. It was kind of a relieve as we no longer need to wash our own clothes, mop our own floors. However, being all new and inexperienced, the maid was initially a real let down whn we found out that she's nearly completely "kicthen-illiterate". Thus, it has been a havoc week for my mum when the maid first came.

And therefore, i am posting this entry to THANK my mum, for putting in extra effort in guiding the maid to do the chores and making the home a better place to live in.

Besides that, i believe that i can say in behalf of them (Qin & Jie) that we are really grateful that our mum sort of "trained" us in the kitchen either directly or indirectly. I am proud to say that at least we still know how to cook a simple meal and that is all thanks our mum. Though my own cooking might not be tasty, at least i won't starve myself. Seeing the maid being blur in the kitchen really makes me re-think how fortunate i am to actually know more than her in these stuff. Thus, i have to thank my mum again for giving me pointers when i occasionally step into the kitchen to see my mum cook.

The feeling of being able to tell people confidently that you can at least cook a simple meal for yourself or being able to do certain chores independently really makes a person proud of his/her family upbringing. I think it really reflects a person's family brought up up to a certain extent. We can see whether a person is capable of independency through his/her character and his knowledge about living skills. It all boils down to parents' teaching and guidance or also their own initiative to learn. Thus, i agree with those who thinks that family upbringing is really important for a person's "survivalbility" and sustanence.

Therefore, i would like to urge those who have absolutely no idea about living skills to go and learn them. Because you definitely will NEED it later in your life and by the time, it may be a little too late to learn. Be it cooking, cleaning or basic repair works, it will come in handy next time.

To mum: We really appreciate your hardwork and we really really really, from the bottom of our hearts THANK you for all the things you have done for the family. I hope that you can forgive our occasional clumsiness or "blur-ness" because we are humans after all, and do let us know how we can improve and be a better help. =)
